About Hawaiian Baby Woodrose and Its Benefits

Hawaiian baby woodrose is a climbing vive that is found in India. It is also called Argyreia Nervosa and can extend up to ten meters in length. It has leaves that are shaped like a heart and bears flowers with a trumpet shape. Its seeds, which are furry, grow in the seed pods. This plant has its origin in Indian countries but has now spread other countries including African continent, the Caribbean and Hawaii. Many people have come to like this plant due to its many beneficial purposes.
Argyreia nervosa roots and seeds have many uses which have been exploited by the people of India for many years. Its uses have been passed down the generations over the years.
Some of the main beneficial uses include the following:
- Hawaiian baby woodrose is used in healing purposes. It has been used effectively to heal wounds and increase blood pressure to effective parts.
- Its roots are used to treat diseases like rheumatism, gonorrhea, hoarseness, obesity, nervous system diseases diabetes, anemia, syphilis, general debility and tuberculosis.
- Hawaiian baby woodrose has been used as a herb in weakened conditions such as vita and kapha, anorexia, emaciation, dyspepsia, ulcers, and flatulence.

However, there are some effects which have been noted by some users over time raising concern. As such, one should be very careful while consuming Hawaiian baby woodrose. This is because it causes stomach discomfort to many people for about two or one hour after consumption. Some people have even experienced nausea, anxiety, gas, abdominal cramps and vomiting. Of course, there are the psychotropic effects that come from consuming the Hawaiian Baby Woodrose Seeds in a specific manner as the seeds naturally carry the LSA tryptamine (Lysergic Acid Amide). The nausea is actually not caused by the LSA, but by other compounds in the baby woodrose seeds.
In cases of over dosage, the consumer may experience panic and paranoia, dizziness, delirium and confusion. Dryness of the mouth and the skin may also be experienced in cases of higher dosage.
Other effects of consuming Argyreia nervosa include the feeling of a tingling sensation on the muscles and some sensations similar to LSD, but less intense. Effects can last 6-8 hours, with some residual effects up to 12 hours.
